The Augusta Area Senior Center seeks entries and vendors for their annual Bean & Bacon Days Quilt and Art Show to be held during the 2012 Bean and Bacon Days festivities - new events still being scheduled - see the current list of Bean and Bacon Day activities 2011

2011 Bean & Bacon Days Quilt Show July 1 & 2  

The show will be open from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday evening, July 1, 2011 and from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2011 in the Main Street Gym at 601 Main Street in Augusta, located two blocks north of Hwy 12 and one block east of Hwy 27.  

Besides nearly 100 quilts on display, the avid quilter will find several vendors selling fabrics, quilting supplies and other notions. Crafts for sale will include: hand woven rugs, jewelry and more.  

The show is sponsored by the Quilt Addicts of Augusta who meet every Monday at the Augusta Area Senior Center to share their love of quilting with one another. They work together on a quilt to be raffled off at each year’s show and make items to donate to the local “Toys for Tots” program. All quilters are welcome to join the group.  

For instructions on how to enter your quilt(s) and/or quilted items, send an email with “QUILT ENTRY 2011” in the subject line to: augseniors@aol.com. There is no fee to enter a quilt in the show. There will be awards for Best of Show and several Viewers’ Choice categories.

The quilt show coincides with Augusta’s Bean and Bacon Days Celebration June 30 through July 4 2011 Many activities going on the 4 Day weekend.  

There is no fee to make an entry into the show.

  The Augusta Public Library hosts their annual used book sale as a part of this event.

 Lunch will be available both days.

 Included: an art show featuring the works of the Augusta Senior Center Painting Class.
