The location of the sand mines cause concern for the clean air that Elementary and High School students breathe, stream and river water quality, aquifers pollution, health of humans and wild life and the quality of life. Click on the image to see it by itself
The Town ships primarily affected are the Town of Bridgecreek, Town of Otter Creek and Town of Lincoln all in Eau Claire County Wisconsin. The Eau Claire County Sand Mine map is current to August 2012 and will be updated when new / additional / corrected information is received
The map includes sites operating in Eau Claire County, proposed sites, sites already granted permits, and rumored sites.
The companies that may be involved are Five Star Telecom Properties, Hi-Crush Proppants, High Country Sand, Superior Silica Sands A-1 Materials, Inc and Plum Creek Timberlands
The proposed processing site is less than one half mile from the Augusta Wisconsin Elementary and High School. There may be other townships that are not known
